Just some thoughts...

We will all be best served if nobody tries to seize on the 9/11 Commission's report to try and cast blame upon Bush, or Clinton, or Republicans, or Democrats, or airport security. The only blame lies entirely on Osama bin Ladin and his followers. George Bush says had he known this was coming, he would have moved heaven and earth to stop it, and I believe him. Just as I believe Clinton would have done, or Al Gore had he been elected.

Sandy Berger is either a world-class moron or a criminal. I haven't read enough to form an opinion, except that he should never again be close to national security.

I don't quite understand how creating a Cabinet-level intelligence official will help the issues we seem to have in our intelligence community. I've read that this would help enhance the prestige, and therefore clout, of the lead intelligence director; but the CIA head already reports directly to the President. How much more clout do you need? As far as coordinating the various intelligence services, could we not achieve the same result by simply having a President who would call them together and say "figure out a way to work together starting now, or I'll find people who will"?

Cynthia McKinney going back to Congress is not a good thing. Democrats can do without her type of politics.
